Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 2S to Feature an Under-Display Fingerprint Sensor, Suggests a new Leak

Xiaomi is expected to soon launch a flurry of flagship phones, one of which is expected to be an upgrade to the company’s Mi Mix lineup. Dubbed the Mi Mix 2S, the handset has been making rounds in a bunch of leaks for the last few weeks. However, today’s report reveals roughly every detail there is to know about the forthcoming flagship.

For starters, the Mi Mix 2S will feature an under-display fingerprint sensor instead of placing it on the rear. Moreover, it will also mend one of the biggest annoyances of its predecessor — the front camera. It has been repositioned to the top right corner from the bottom right. The leak also suggests that the Mi Mix 2S will flaunt the company’s Full-Screen Display 3.0 which could possibly mean Xiaomi will shed off every bezel from the front. Unfortunately, we don’t know yet what will be resolution and size.

Like the previous generations, it will come with a ceramic curved unibody. As far as the specifications are concerned, the Mi Mix 2S will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 chipset, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal memory. Although it’s possible there will be multiple variants at various price points available. The camera setup will include two 12-megapixel sensors for enabling Optical Zoom. The phone will be also compatible with global LTE bands.

Although we would suggest taking this report with a pinch of salt since previous leaks had revealed almost entirely a different phone. The one we had a couple of weeks featured an iPhone X-like notch. While, before, it was rumored that the Mi Mix 2S will be launched at this year’s Mobile World Congress, Xiaomi itself recently came forward a couple of days ago and refuted those claims. Therefore, it remains to be seen when exactly the Mi Mix 2S will be going public.
