Xiaomi has finally launched the Mi TV lineup in India. The Mi TV 4 was originally launched at CES 2017 and Xiaomi has introduced the same in India. One of the highlights of the new Tv is its wafer-thin form factor with a thickness of only 4.9mm. The Mi TV 4 is also well appointed and looks elegant with the frameless design. In India, the Mi TV 4 will be sold in only one variant (55-inch) and will be exclusively available on Flipkart.
The Mi TV 4 UHD will come paired with Mi TV Bar which consists of 10-speakers, 2-wireless rear satellite speakers along with a subwoofer. Also, the Mi TV 4 is the first TV to feature Dolby Atmos audio technology. Xiaomi Mi TV 4 is powered by a 64-bit quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. On the storage front, the TV offers 8GB of internal storage. The new Mi Port by Xiaomi can connect the Mi TV Bar to the display and will consist of a single cable.
Xiaomi has also partnered with Hotstar, Voot, Hungama Play, TVF and other content providers. Xiaomi will be giving away three month Sony Live and Hungama Play subscription along with a free Mi IR cable.
Mi TV 4 comes with the Patchwall flavoured Android OS which will use its AI capabilities for content recommendations. The Patchwall makes use of movie databases across platforms and will also match it up with the user’s preferences. Xiaomi says that it has customised the PatchWall to better suit the Indian audience.
The 11-button Mi Remote also deserves a mention, especially since one can not only control a TV but also Set Top Box with the same remote. On the connectivity front, the Mi TV 4 offers 3 HDMI ports, 1XUSB 3.0, 1X USB 2.0 ports, Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi 802.11ac. The Mi TV 4 is priced at Rs 39,999.
